YikeBike named finalist in ‘Nobel Prize’ of sustainability


YikeBike is honoured and thrilled to be selected as one of the five finalists in the Transportation category at the 2012 Katerva Awards.

The Katerva Awards are the pinnacle of global sustainability recognition, encompassing all aspects of the sustainability agenda.

The awards are given annually to excellent systainability ideas and initiative accross ten categories.

The Awards have been called the ‘Nobel Prize’ of Sustainability by Reuters. Through them the best ground-breaking ideas on the planet are identified and judged through a series of evaluation panels made up of the world's leading experts in the field.

The transport category covers innovations and efforts leading to safe and accessible, low- or zero-carbon transportation forms and efforts to improve current methods of mass transportation of materials.

For the first time, Katerva will present the People's choice Award. An online vote from 14 through 29 January will determine the winner, so make sure you mark this in your calendars and vote for Yikebike!
